Leading a Product Ops function can often feel like having to cover everything, everywhere, all at once. This pressure can result in nothing, anywhere, at any time, being given the right level of focus to ensure positive iterative mindset change.
This talk covers some of the challenges faced when introducing foundational operational practices and how a burgeoning Product Ops or Product Leadership team can ensure they are adding value through effective change management.
No matter where you look, it feels like Product Ops is a part of every discussion around Product Management nowadays. Even though this is not exactly a new function - Melissa Perri wrote about it in 2018 -, there are still many questions and opinions around it, both favorable and contrary.
For those in Product Operations, this could be the best of times or the worst of times. It all depends on how you approach it at your organization. And that’s what Chris Compston, Product Operations leader with 5+ years of experience in the field, will talk about in this 40 minutes masterclass.

Chris Compston
Product Operations leader @Bumble
Chris leads Product Operations at Bumble where, as with his previous roles at Farfetch, ThoughtWorks, and Sky, his goal is to help teams to build better products.
He believes that Product Ops should be seen as a force multiplier, unlocking the superpowers of the product organization, and that the most successful Product Ops people are experimental and collaborative by nature.
He is currently working with product leadership (Product Management, Design, Analytics, etc) on defining and rolling out product experimentation processes and building a stronger product development operational cadence.
